In a 40-second video, the world’s most-prominent YouTuber dives 20 feet into a ball-pit, turns a front-flip off a table and smashes through plate-glass window — a rare moment of action captured inside a struggling Raleigh mall.

MrBeast chose Triangle Town Center in North Raleigh to film an Instagram action sequence advertising his hybrid toys, an unadvertised appearance in the North Raleigh mall filmed roughly two weeks ago.

In it, the Greenville-based MrBeast walks through the mall concourse carrying a silver briefcase, which contains the last toy to complete his collection, when a high-speed, Bond-like action sequence ensues.
[–>
He jumps from second floor to first, pursued by mall security guards on Segway scooters, then darts into “Priceless Antiques,” a set piece created out of an empty storefront. After crashing through the glass, he escapes into a flashy sports car and dashes away — Triangle Town Center’s blue logo clearly visible.
[–>
“It was so cool to have him here,” said a mall employee who asked to stay anonymous but noted that MrBeast and crew filmed after hours. “He’s so creative.”
[–>
Triangle Town Center has watched customers drift away for years, enough that its outdoor pedestrian mall is vacant, its artificial river turned off, and sometimes attracts “urban explorer” videos that capture its ghost-town quality.
[–>
Anchors along the lines of Sears and Macy’s have shut their doors, and the mall has fought an image problem over perceived high-crime, particularly after a shooting in April.
[–>
But the mall noticed MrBeast’s post and celebrated with the comment: “Hey, that’s us!”

Not even a celebrity appearance could stave off the Instagram jokes, though, including this one from rice_cakes47: “Probably the most traffic that mall has seen in years.”
