Well, both comedians have a tie to Kansas City as regular participants in Big Slick, the annual celebrity fundraiser for Children’s Mercy hosted by Jason Sudeikis, Paul Rudd and friends.

Forte became good friends with Sudeikis through their days together on “Saturday Night Live.”

At this year’s celebrity party at T-Mobile Center, Forte and Killam appeared in one of the evening’s biggest moments, teaming up with Zachary Levi, Joe Lo Truglio and Richard Kind in a Backstreet Boys tribute, singing, “I Want It That Way.”

Forte also had some fun away from the event. He took an “unauthorized” swim in the fountain of the Westin hotel at Crown Center, egged on by fellow celeb Jake Tapper of CNN.

“I think what’s even more meaningful is hearing the people talk about the charities,” Kimmel has said of the show. “Because in many cases, it’s a very personal connection. So you get to learn a little bit about what these people that you know care about.”

The show has been on hiatus since a successful run over the summer. The final three episodes of the current season will air on Wednesday, on Oct. 14 and on Oct. 21.

[–>

Other celebrity teams still to compete include Colin Jost and Michael Che, Michael Keaton and Jon Lovett, and Billy Porter and Leslie Odom Jr.

Kimmel has spoken of the energy that comedian participants has brought to the show.

[–>

“Yeah, you know what, when you have two comedians sitting next to each other, especially when they’ve known each other for a long time, there’s just a chemistry there and a rhythm and sometimes they jab each other, and it’s a lot of fun to watch,” he said.

The show airs at 7 p.m. Wednesday CDT on ABC.
